Russia’s Foreign Ministry expresses concern over the recent events in Turkey and calls on the country’s authorities and nation to settle the problems without use of force, the ministry’s statement reads.
“The aggravation of the home situation on the background of the terrorist threats in that country and of the armed conflict in the region means higher risks for the international and regional stability,” the ministry said. “We are calling on the authorities and people of Turkey to settle the problems without use of force, with respect for the constitutional order.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed it ready for “joint constructive work with legally elected leaders of the Turkish Republic in the interests of promoting the bilateral relations for the peoples of our countries, for search for effective settlements of the current international issues, first of all related to fighting the threat of terrorism.”
A group of insurgents staged a military attempt coup in Turkey on the night from July 15 to July 16.
